–       Addiction and Mental Health

The therapeutic team understand that addiction and mental health are intertwined and the pervasive nature of addiction on the mind invariably leads to changes in the brain structure and function. To fully understand ones addiction it is imperative to create a clear picture of the individual’s mental health and ability to engage in therapy. The centre’s comprehensive assessment allows the clinical team to develop a treatment plan that best suits the individual, both psychologically and spiritually.

The co-morbid or dual nature of addiction means to treat the addiction only,  is to only treat half of the problem, along with the addictive behaviors will be an underlying mental health issue. Whether it be depression, anxiety or psychological trauma this must be treated along with the addiction in order to gain full recovery. Our treating team will assist you to better understand how your use of substances helps you manage underlying inner conflict.
